Adult ballet classes are designed for dancers who have the basics under their belt. These classes will expand upon the basic concepts of ballet and dive deeper, improving your skills and building your confidence on the dance floor. Dancers will continue to learn terminology, musicality and develop the skills to execute a beginning to intermediate-beginner level ballet class in an encouraging and constructive setting. Classes are constructed to reflect the level of the dancers who are registered.
Tuesday Adult Ballet 1 with Kathleen Bostleman is a class designed for adult dancers who’ve either completed the Actual Beginner Adult Ballet Series or have six months of ballet training and are ready to continue exploring the art form in an inclusive and encouraging environment.
This class builds on the core principles of ballet -refining posture, coordination, and basic vocabulary- while introducing new elements of technique, musicality and expressive movement. Students will deepen their understanding of alignment, develop strength and control, and explore more complex combinations. Each class is structured to promote continued growth at a thoughtful pace, with individualized attention to support progress and prevent injury.
Whether your goals include improving your strength and grace, connecting with your body through movement, or simply enjoying the beauty of ballet, this class offers the perfect balance of challenge and encouragement to expand your skills and confidence while finding joy in movement..
Recommended for: Adults with some prior ballet experience (6 months or more)
Thursday Adult Ballet 2with Courtenay Krieger is designed for adult dancers with at least one year of consistent experience looking to take their ballet training to the next level. This class is ideal for students who are comfortable with the basics and ready to deepen their understanding of ballet technique in a supportive, structured environment.
Building on foundational skills, dancers will refine alignment, strength, and coordination through extended barre work and more detailed center combinations. We’ll introduce new movement vocabulary, encourage greater musicality and artistry, and begin exploring transitions and flow between steps with increased confidence. Taught at an approachable pace, this class offers the perfect balance of challenge and encouragement to help you grow as a dancer—whether you’re returning after a break or continuing your ballet journey with fresh dedication. Recommended for: Adults with at least one year of RECENT ballet experience
Tuesday Adult Ballet 1 classes meet from 7:00-8:00pm in studio 4F at 440 Lafayette St. Thursday Adult Ballet 2 classes meet from 6:00-7:00pm at 440 Lafayette St. in studio 4F.
